2 flat stages after today so QS will take it easy - expect a high tempo. Could see some GC guys lose some time after yesterdays stage. Dawg has the occasional problems on short steep stuff and Tommy D crashed plus Yates is sole leader with all the pressure. Is it finally time for Pinot to win a stage/gain some time?

Temperature between 14-17 degrees. Showers in the afternoon.
This is another leg breaks and I'm not sure any team will want to control the stage. Hopefully a few second tier GT riders try to sneak into the break. Formolo is my pick.

A lot wll depend on positioning into the finale. I'm not sure MS are going to be strong enough tomorrow to set Yates up.
Yep, those last 5 km are very tricky

Oh you poor soul. Sorry for corrupting you by referring very briefly to odds in the context of discussion about who will win. Best not mention individual riders either, cause of course that’s a subject for the individual rider threads.
I vote with PopChu

Bennett over Pozzovivo - 2.8

Honestly, when I first saw this I was rather confused, until I realised it was probably George it was referring to.
Otherwise it would be a rather weird bet; "Who of these two, in no way similar, riders will finish first?"

Imagine Astana will be absolutely fired up for today going through Scarponi's home region?

Would be sweet if they could win this stage.

You are both right. Your post was fine and you only mentioned those odds briefly. Popchu is right as well, having to read through pages of whom betted money on which rider and what the odds for these bets are is utterly tedious and belongs in its own thread.

This finish reminds me of one they used to use at Tirreno Adriatico.
Simon gettnig expert advise from Adam on handling Italian murito's?

Really weird looking back that Yates went to PN rather than Tirreno before peaking for the Giro.

Christopher Clive Froome didn't say a lot yesterday after the finish, and who can blame him given the distance he had to cover.

"It was a very hard stage, everybody was feeling fresh and there was a lot of action at the start of the day.

"But I'm pleased that I was in the front group, and finally the only guy that lost time was Esteban [Chaves]. It was a tough day, and that's racing."

Nice usage of the "full name ultimatum" here. :p

Big group getting away now. 5km to the start of the more challenging terrain.

Now a medium sized group with a gap.

No one is getting away before the climb, it seems.

I hope no break will be formed before the first climb so they can't softpedal it

Lulu and De Marchi with a gap after several tries. Now some try to bridge from the bunch. The climb has started.

An Androni rider (Masnada) is bridging. Maestri (Bardiani) is a bit after him. The peloton has pulled the handbrake.

After all this fighting to get into the break everyone is suddenly happy with a two men break? Seriously?

It might just be because I'm Danish I notice this, but what is it with Mads P. and attacking early, only to end up in the back of the bunch?
Guess you can't fault him for not trying...

It's the Giro. All the oxygen goes to the legs, brain oxygen levels get dangerously low
