Bennett is such a disappointing sprinter. Bora think he's way better than he is, he's like the fourth fastest here.

Bennett did his best but he simply can't compete, Viviani is faster and has a stronger team.

Please just DQ Bennett from the results. Disgraceful sprint.

Viviani with a monstorus sprint despite Bennett pulling such a douche move, great stuff.
Honestly, if you sprint like that you can just **** off from the race. See ya next year.
Think thats too drastic - had Elia crashed, it would have been different, but he won so I think the commissaries won't do anything actually.

Impressive that EF Drapac kept Woods so close to the front; this is the kind of stage where he could easily have lost time.

Thank god this part of the giro is over. Not just because I'm against the giro in Israel but mostly because those horrible flat stages are finally over. Now give me some hilly Italian roads

Lol Bennet what a moron.

Great effort to win by Viviani
Yeah, disgraceful. He should be thrown out. No excuses, a blatant and illegal block, that could have had terrible consequences. Moron.

But that's exactly the point. Viviani very well could have crashed here so by not doing anything the UCI basically says, we won't penalize anyone as long as nobody gets injured. That just encourages sprinters to do the same again

Just want to note how useless Sabatini is. Dropped with 5km to go and is always the one who loses the wheel in the train.

Yet still was the last leadout for Zabel, Petacchi, Sagan, Cavendish, Kittel, Gaviria and Viviani.

Presumably all those gaps in the peloton will be annulled under the new 3km rule, whereby neutralisation is no longer dependent on a mechanical or crash.
Can you explain this further?
Will Betancur be given the same time?

I don't agree with it either, but lets see what they choose. A DQ is definitely at its place and you could easily argue for sending him home as well.

He had a flat, according to Viviani.
That makes it clearer, but to me he still doesn't look like a right leadout man. Morkov is both faster and better at positioning.

The fact that Bennett didn't push viviani totally to the barriers and left a (very small) gap probably means it's just a relegation.

disgraceful rule. Today riders were dropped in the run in simply because they couldn't hold wheels.

Yep, the outcome shouldn't really be the only factor considered in these incidents. Without really wishing to re-open an old debate, it was at least as dangerous as what Sagan did in the Tour de France last year imo. It was a textbook case of dangerous sprinting.
