Should Politt work? On the one hand, his contribution could put him well up the road. On the other hand, Gilbert has plenty of incentive to work and therefore give Politt a free ride.

Stybar attacks.

Making Sagan and GVA use their doms and so tired that they can't follow Terpstra when he launch his final attack.

Nice move from Gilbert. He's forced several domestiques to put in big digs, largely by riding on the back of an attack by Teunisen. While his team-mates got a free ride for 20km.

Gilbert didnt make a big effort in that break, he probably used up less energy than the likes of GVA when he was catching up earlier in the race

I have the feeling this break could have been more successful but Gilbert wasn't 100% committed. He probably knew that move was the correct thing to do for the team but it hurt his own chance of winning

QS bad tactics today.. already wasting two leaders.
They're doing it because they can. They still have more potential winners left than all the other teams.

Yep, no way that was an all-in attack by Gilbert. He didn't even take a turn to establish the original gap.

GVA was doing nothing except having lunch when he was behind before
