Groenewegen absolutely phenomenal. Was in about 25th-30th position at the start of the last 1.5k, went up to the front on his own and destroyed them all.

He is so unbelievably strong this year. He has beaten virtually every top sprinter this year with ease, except Gaviria I think (they had almost no confrontations). Even Viviani was outclassed (in PN sprint I think).

I won't be surprised if Groenewegen wins 4/5 sprints in the Tour

edit: rewatched it. Holy *** Ewan got owned in every conceivable way. Groenewegen first sprinted from 30th to 8th position while Ewan was already in front behind 4(!) teammates. Then Groenewegen started his sprint from far, came over everyone with about 3 times the speed Ewan had. Holy ***. Not even a contest. Pelucchi held the wheel and that was it

4-5 sprints would be beyond extremely surprising given that everyone, and I mean everyone, is turning up this Tour. A couple of stages should be the goal

Ewan crashed pretty hard earlier in the stage.

Was waiting to see Ewan up against Groenewegen as they've come through at the same time - Ewan will have his work cut out to beat Groenewegen at the TDF but there is always a chance in a sprint - Ewan's really needs an incline at the end of a sprint - He needs something like 4% for the last 500 metres - I wonder if any of the sprinters can make the final tomorrow - Get over the cat 2 and there is a chance for the final climb.

Its the type of wins that stick. Groenewegen has been the most impressive to me in terms of speed and raw power.

I think only Gaviria is a real challenge if Groenewegen isn't completely *** placed

Yeah, I think there's a decent chance the sprinters share the stages and there is no dominant guy this year with Kittel/Katusha being off their game. Unless of course, the QS train is as dominant as it's been for all its sprinters this year.

Kluge and Kittel are in the break today. They have a bit more than 5 minutes on the bunch at the moment.

Kittel in the break? Now that's something new.
