Maybe King Boonen can mention Glasgow in the thread title? I now just found it out at the bottom of the OP..

It also says something about how much this race lives of is promoted. Maybe it needs some time.

I guess if Sagan doesn't win, that'll be goodbye to Juraj's nat's hopes for 2019. Can't have PS actually wearing a team kit from June to October, can we?

Oh is there actually a jersey that the winner gets?
What do you think Kristoff is wearing right now?

I honestly never noticed and when I did see it I thought it was team kit.

Looking at the startlist, this seems to be yet another sprinters edition. Is that correct?
I wouldn’t bet against it, but then it’s basically Viviani Vs. Sagan with Kristoff and Greipel fighting it out for bronze. Hopefully some of the other teams will make it a hard race.

Commonwealth games wasn’t a sprint, but weather was terrible and more attritional

British Nationals was a small group Cavendish was in it and won it though
Don’t think either of those races gives much of an indication though. The talent pool here is a different level, especially compared to nationals.

Lotto wanted Greipel to race in Poland. Because of that he won't be in Glasgow. Germany will be fully concentrated on Degenkolb as a result

They may actually want a hard race then which could be good.

How long will the race be? The circuit looks a bit tricky midways with a bit of up and down, but its probably not that hard for the pros.

The up and down really isn't much. I'm guessing it's the bit around Kelvingrove Park you're looking at? It's probably the best place to get away as you have a few ramps and some sharpish corners, Glasgow is blessed with wide streets but Hillhead into Gibson Street (points 18 and 19) is pretty tight and will slow a group of chasers. Other than that escaping on Montrose Street, holding on round Rottenrow and hammering it down High Street might get you enough of a gap leading into the Green. That would be going from about 5K out so pretty tough.

Re: 2018 UEC Road Elite Euro Championships, Glasgow(5-12 Aug

Team SKY's stagiaire/trainee Ethan Hayter will be in Glasgow but
not for the road. He'll be riding the Poursuite Par Equipes tonight
(Thur-2-Aug) at the Velodrome resplendent in the rainbow bands.
Come down to Sir Chris Hoy's Palais du Cyclisme so when Hayter
wins a Tour in 12 years you can say you predicted it back in 2018
the first time you saw him when he was still only a Team Pursuiter!

I only go to the Velodrome when I can get a shot on some rollers ;)

You going?
