Carapaz was climbing like a god today and yesterday. I am impressed. Certainly looks well for Movistar as they probably have the two best climbers in the race.

JosephK said:I wonder if Roglic caught whatever illness sidelined his teammate De Plus? Looked like he was knackered at the end, very much a surprise after the position he was in at the top of the hard climb with about 25 km left. The big favorite now has to be Carapaz. Still a small gap to Roglic, but it looks like he is fading. Nibali will have almost 2 minutes to close. Doesn't look good for him.
The stupidity of losing 1'24" on the last climb though.Gigs_98 said:As crazy as it sounds, but this might be it. After today does anyone see Nibali or Roglic drop Carapaz? I surely don't. Carapaz only needs a few more seconds of buffer before the final TT and I'm pretty confident he will get those. It's obviously all far from over but I'd say Carapaz now is the clear favorite.
Can you blieve that? After all the big names entering the giro it could be freakin Richard Carapaz winning it.

actually nobody. He just said to RAI he was happy Roglic helped today. He was also grateful to Caruso for his amazing job and said there are many contenders. A 30 seconds fresh reaction

BullsFan22 said:Get off of Roglic. This is really his first GT where he is considered a favorite or one of the strongest bets for the overall, whereas Nibali has been there for a decade +. Roglic also has a weaker team, he's been isolated for many of the key climbs so far in the Giro and he has to defend everything by himself as a result. If he starts marking everything by himself, he's going to pay for that later and he'll lose everything. Nibali has a comparatively much stronger team, perhaps he should work with his team. If Roglic had worked hard to go after each attack, people would be calling him naive and stupid with for the boneheaded moves of covering every attack and wasting his energy. You can't have it both ways.
I'm just going to assume you've seen nothing of today's stage.BullsFan22 said:Get off of Roglic. For me it’s the same issue that happens every time on this forum and in sport in general, people just hype a rider who’s had a good season up to the point it’s genuinely annoying. People seemed to think he was Froome 2.0Moviefan1203 said:BullsFan22 said:Get off of Roglic. Yeah, I don’t get the dislike for Roglic.
I am wondering also!Krokro said:I'm wonderinf what is Lopez thinking with all his almost-attacks?

He was probably happy that Roglic lost the jersey, not that Roglic helped in the chase. Nibali is a cry baby who was DQ'd for blatantly cheating by getting a tow from his team car at the Vuelta 4 years ago. Class act.
It is impossible that just letting the gap grow to 2 minutes is +ev unless he was completely empty and thought he'd get countered and lose time to everyone.Bolder said:Rollthedice said:He lost the Giro today. Didn't listen to what Nibali said.Red Rick said:Roglic either has 0 or 100% confidence
I wouldn't go that far. Clearly Roglic isn't the strongest climber -- that would be Carapaz right now -- but he didn't expend any extra energy today either. One thing about Roglic is that he can diesel his way back after being attacked, maybe not in the highest mountains tho.
Key question is whether Landa will act like a proper domestique. For Carapaz to take almost 2 minutes over the "favorites" show that he's really got a chance to win.
Yates had a nice finish, too bad he already had has really bad days. Likewise Dombrowski. Mollema, otoh...
Landa as official domestique.HelloDolly said:I guess Landa will ride domestique now and will be 3rd ...and then there will be more free Landa on here !!
