Carretero is an ATV, once he's more experienced he will be something like Lastras used to be in terms of role. He's useful. He was 12th in the Ruta del Sol, so far from super strong or anything, but he can carry riders over medium obstacles for sure. I reckon they're hoping Héctor can carry them as far as Como before the Civiglio loop. Yates is far enough down they can let him hang for a while.
