What's up with Bernal? I didn't expect that Lopez would beat him by that much for 2nd place.

He would have been 5th if Anacona and Quintana had shown up. Though Anacona is on fire and Quintana a pretty good TTer, of course. But still.

I can't see Uran on the startlist even though the news on EF's website stated that he would ride.

Wow, I didn't know Serpa was still an active rider. Besides him and Avila, the other riders who finished in the top10 are not familiar to me, which is rather surprising considering the fact how many big names were on the startlist. I don't follow racing in South America closely so please forgive me not knowing these riders because I guess at least some of them could be expected to do well.

From the Top10, expected to do well, Serpa and Quiroz.
The story of the race was defined in 15 Kms. WT and PCT teams cannot expect to come back on a 21 riders breakaway on a flat course, especially when there are so many of them busy in other places like San Juan (that includes Team Medellín), Australia, Spain. I mean you have anywhere between 1 and 3 guys... which ones are you planning to burn for 200Kms?

According to local press rumors that will be the route of Italian national championship, another pretty easy edition with the circuit climb of 3,4 kms at only 4%.

Just saw that on PCS. If their numbers are correct, which I doubt, Impey rode at a speed comparable to hour record attempts?

Why not? The course could be a bit downhill, and he could've had a strong tailwind. And the gaps to the others are within reason. But it's of course also possible that the time trial wasn't actually 52km.

If it was downhill, of course. But the race course is called Tswane - Tswane, so it should be some kind of circuit. Could be wrong as well, who knows?

Impey alone all day against a bunch of DD riders. Does all the work to catch the break and drops them all on the last climb. Well deserved.

A beast of a ride by Impey - Pleasing that a quality rider wears the Champion's jersey.
