Isn’t it a bit strange, that stage 6 is one with the greatest altitude gain of the whole Tour?!
Unless I’m mistaken.

4 pages of posts the morning before the race, there are going to be some very sad and disappointed people on this board later today.

Lot of people saying on social media that the final K is no longer gravel and has been paved over.

Nevermind, just silly rumours.
From the images I guess it's cured chipseal / Rollsplitt isn't it!?

Why?

This stage is too tough to not give plenty of answers. The winning attack may not be put in before the last kilometre, but there should be plenty worth to watch before that.

So who will be in the early break?

Surely all the GC captains wait for the last climb.
I'd expect Barguil to be there as well as Meurisse and De Gendt. Calmejane or Sicard. Maybe even Guillaume Martin and / or Frank.

Plus someone from Cofidis like Berhane, Herrada or Edet. Perhaps Erviti

I think stages 15,18 and 20 > stage 6 as far as the altitude gain is concerned but can't find any official numbers

Partially its because there seems to be a strong inverse correlation between excitement and action on this board.
Secondly its wishful thinking, as I have to leave work around the time they hit Col de Chevreres and i'll be underground with no way to watch the last hour or so.

Like what? An Ineos train dropping some names on each climb and then an Ineos train until the final KM were Bernal or Thomas jump away and win?

The excitement is killing me already
