Why?

This stage is too tough to not give plenty of answers. The winning attack may not be put in before the last kilometre, but there should be plenty worth to watch before that.

Partially its because there seems to be a strong inverse correlation between excitement and action on this board.
Secondly its wishful thinking, as I have to leave work around the time they hit Col de Chevreres and i'll be underground with no way to watch the last hour or so.

No bar close to your workplace with a television around? If applicable you could tell your partner you had an affair with a co-worker as an excuse why you are so late at home ;-)

Bars in the UK absolutely do NOT show live cycling. An affair sounds fun though.

If you want to combine cycling with an affair I would do it like Julien Absalon though!

It makes no sense to do the work, if it is not for the yellow jersey.

The interesting thing is who will help QS today. I think FDJ will help later on in order to win the stage with Pinot, he seems in great shape and if Im not mistaken, he is from the Vosges? Anyways maybe UAE, Mitchelton as well, Movistar and Sky Im not sure about.

But they are working, that is the point.

There would be no reason to, if not to maintain yellow.

Also, Moerkoev just said in an pre-stage interview they broadcast in Denmark, that the teams aim was to maintain yellow with Alaphilippe.

Oh, Woods (pre-recorded interview with danish TV) just made me aware..... There are bonus seconds on the second last climb!

He expects the GC favorites to go hard to that, and that everything will explode there.

It could detonate the stage, despite being just a handful of seconds.
Barguil and Turgis(?) should practice descending together... Could have fun.
