So, Inkelaar, Verschaeve & Hayter out due to a crash.
Covi, Schelling nog going for GC?
Arensman showing some signs of weakness (or is there another reason for losing 45 seconds in stage 3?). Still in a good position due to the TTT.
Same for Alba?
Colombians losing a lot of time in the TTT (which was expected, i assume). Same for Valter & Ries.

It looks like favourites are dropping like flies, it has been a bit of a crashfest.
Aleotti has been good so far, but he shouldn't be a factor in the high mountains.
He has a good engine, climbs really well on shorter climbs and has a nice sprint, a bit like Vendrame and Velasco. I just hope that Pidcock is ok after that crash, loosing another favourite because of a crosh would be pretty bad.

Wait, Pidcock got s.t. as the group, why would you have a 3km rule on a stage like this?
I believe that the three minute rule applies whenever the finish is not a categorised climb. Never seen it tested in the case of a race that has a KoM line about 1km short of the finish though.

Edit: yep.
rule 2.6.027
In the case of a duly noted incident in the last three kilometres of a road race stage, the rider or riders affected shall be credited with the time of the rider or riders in whose company they were riding at the moment of the incident. ...
This article shall not apply where the finish is at the top of a hill-climb

Just a Carlos Mario Jaramillo syndrome. He will be fine.
But if you need explanation, The stupid Colombian DS sent his team leader in a lone attack when the stage, that didn't suit him, just started, and during harsh conditions. He froze and got a crisis, so he DNF.
Are you serious?
Why attack? they were supposed to wait for the mountains. That's the most stupid reason that I have heard.
Wow! there goes the opportunity.
