Foss is really the strongest gc guy, but he's also already 22 years old and Scandinavians are often alrealy at their best at a young age.
I assumed that this route could help Zimmermann and it's probably also helping Aleotti. Still, he's riding for a smaller ct team that only signs regional prospects from the Friuli regions and let them grow without a ton of pressure, h should still have lots of room to improve.

I get a Ravasi feeling. I'm more hyped about Aleotti and Val Wilder being 2nd and 3rd then Foss being 1st.

I was actually surprised by how good Foss is climbing. Had the impression he lost a bit of his climbing legs by getting a decent classics rider, in both Ardennes and Flanders.

Yes, I still think that as a pro Aleotti will be better in hilly one day races and shorter stage races than in gts. The thing with Van Wilder is that he is not just someone who benefits from the short mountain stages. He has shown in the Giro della Vall d'Aosta that he cslan handle really hard mountain stages, despite being only a first year u23 rider.

So all this time we've all been hyping the wrong '99 Italian rider, ie Bagioli?

Van Wilder doesnt look too good today. Gonna be hard to keep Champoussin behind him in the GC.

Apparently Van Wilder crashed earlier so that explains why he looks a bit weaker than yesterday.
