There could be some snow on Monte Giovo, but not in Scena. Tomorrow probably reduced uphill sprint. My picks are Vuillermoz and Tao.

It will be in ones and twos after Jaufenpass/Monte Giovo. Don't think there will be much of a (reduced) peloton left, more like a duo Nibali/Majka or something like that.

Tuesday's stage 2 Reith im Alpbachtal to Schenna/Scena 178.7km
Start 10.45 CET TV from 14.00 CET

The second stage is the longest of the 2019 TotA and - on cards - the toughest. After an early loop of 28 km to Brixlegg and back to the start in Reith, the race follows the flat B171 road until km 55. From there, the first ascent of the day to Tulfes will take the race to the natural terrace that overlooks Innsbruck, passing through Sistrans and Lans and then head towards Italy on the L38. As the race reaches Matrei am Brenner, the peloton will enter the B182 that will take the riders to the Brenner pass, and to Italy after 102 km. A fast descent to Vipiteno/Sterzing will set up the key moment of the stage, the long ascent to the Passo del Giovo/Jaufenpass/. A long and very fast descent will take the race to the Val Passiria, and to the outskirts of Merano/Meran. The last 4,5 km will be once again on the up toward Scena/Schenna, with a spectacular finale on the tough ramps of the Schlossweg in the last 500 mt.

What happened to Alex Aranburu?
In the general classification it appears with 10" more. A small sanction?

So he is found to have cheated on the way to one of his career best results, to the extent that he deserves a sanction, but is allowed to keep the result.

If he had won the stage, would he have been able to keep the result? Would they have the man who came second in stage 1 wearing the yellow jersey (or whatever colour it is in this race)?

Yes, I suppose it would be normal to sanction Aranburu with the last position of the group in the stage.
And also some time in the general

no, not for this offense. UCI rules say "100 fine, 20%** penalty in points and mountains classifications and 10 seconds penalty per infringement" is all there can be done.

For "Rider holding on to own team vehicle" it's a different story, so I guess "Pushing off car" is really just a minor offense

We're under way on stage 2 and there's a 6 man breakaway ...
https://twitter.com/Tourof_TheAlps/status/1120625308544188416
The 6 riders on the attack are: n. 74 ACOSTA OSPINA (@NIPPO_Fantini), n. 82 AMADOR CASTAÑO (@TeamManzana), N. 127 SAMITIER (@MuriasTeam), N. 136 VISCONTI and n. 137 ZARDINI (@NeriSelleItalia), N. 166 ROCCHETTI (@teamcolpack). At km 40 the gap is 2'50''

but 2 riders are absent

TBM pulling, guess Nibbles gonna try, at least for the stage win.

I think Froome has convinced them to take it easy today. Given that the whole peloton is still there I think the pace is pretty slow.

That underrated when Antonio rides as hard as he cab until he drops before Vincenzo, instead of attacking, decides to instead look around, chill amd grab a rain jacket
