I blame the Italians and Spanish. There was a period where the main group split and the Dutch were all on the wrong side both had numbers yet they just looked around. Awful racing.
What major contenders did the Spanish have that they could back? Italy perhaps, but it's hardly surprising that everybody looked at the Dutch.

We thought they'd got over their history of tactical fails in recent years, only to be reminded that you can't stop the prophet Rabofail.

Santesteban and Garcia may not be major leaders but surely they could have done more than hide when they had numbers
