I am one of the few who enjoy TTT's BUT the course needs to be more selective - Maybe altitude will affect the racing.

EF put in an impressive TTT. Then we have 6 teams behind them are within 17 seconds of each other. That's a very close result for that set of teams.

EF had a tailor-made roster for this TTT- every rider in the team was at least a decent climber and a decent TT-er, which is invaluable on such route. Deceuninck and Ineos brought some weaker riders so they were no match for the American team in these circumstances.

EF took part in 3 TTs this season (here, Colombian nationals and Etoile de Bessèges) and won all of them.

The GC is not over, though, I can easily imagine Bernal getting 50 seconds back on the last stage or Alaphilippe to make a daring attack and gain time somewher.

If EF didn't have Martinez and Higuita, who are in-form and good at altitude then maybe we'd have something to look forward to. Seems like GC is realistically over already.

The summit finishes of 2018 and 2019 didn't create gaps enough for a rider to make up 46 seconds, and this one isn't as hard as Alto de las Palmas last year (where the top four were 16 seconds apart).

looks like alaphilippe is ready for an amazing season. rode all but one of his teammates right off his wheel in a TT...

Race website has Alaphillipe, Jungels, Steimle and Lerberghe 6th-9th on GC, so Hodeg and Honore dropped.

Thanks, the photo I spotted definitely showed Steimle and Lerberghe behind, but it now looks like this was after the first 2 were dropped as Alaphilippe and Jungels were about 50m ahead.

It was hardly a hilly parcours . QS HAD to wait a long time when Steimle and LERBEGHE were dropped by ALa and JUNGELS before half way. it cost them 20 to 30 seconds.
