That rumoured course looks like it could still favour the climbers over classics specialists. Have seen a route on Twitter with the traditional Tre Monti (4.9 km @ 4.1 %) starting the lap. Then second climb 1.4 km @ 9.4 % and the final climb 1.4 km @ 10.6 %. Lets see what happens, but this course would be very demanding for sure.

There's also rumours about the road part passing Cesenatico, as a Pantani tribute. Carpegna before the circuit would be awesome!

Cassani must've sneaked a few more climbs along the route. I mean, to hold a WCRR in Italy just to throw away any chance of an Italian winning would be a bit foolish.

Just saw Eshnar's post. Yes.

At first when I read the headline about Imola, I was deeply dissapointed since I thought they would only include the Tre Monti climb.
But those two final steep climbs on each lap looks a lot better and a fine substitute for Martigny.
(Edit: or are the two steeper climbs only for last lap? In that case I think UCI has forgotten Innsbruck)

LBL has like 11 categorized climbs total.

This worlds is like doing the hardest single one 18 times.
If the informations are correct it should look like this, way harder than LBL.

Ok it's tough, still not sure climbers are gonna get rid of VA MdV Ala or the like, and certainly not Fuglsang.
Longer climbs are key for that.
A lot depending on relative form and tiredeness from people getting out of the TdF.
Birdsong big, big favorite. I don't think the TdF helps on a route this hard. It's way too hard for Van Aert, Van der Poel or Alaphilippe IMO

I think it's going to be too tough for Van Aert and Van der Poel, maybe even for Alaphilippe. For Fuglsang it's a tailor made, but also for Roglic for example...
