Stage is too long for Bora to control by themselves imo. Might be better to try and get Sagan and some teammates in the break than trying to control a stage this long by yourself.

If Bora sell another stage, I have to say it is very disappointing. How can they prioritise the points jersey that highly? Sure, it's important in the Tour but in the Giro? Hmm, I think stages are worth much more (which was why I never understood the ridicule people aimed at Démare in 2019) and it's annoying to see Sagan ride so defensively all of a sudden.

Totally agree. C'mon Sagan, if you want the big money you still need a couple of GT wins this season!

Patiently waiting for The Barb's 'Josef Cerny' tip before I put the house that I haven't paid for yet on said rider.

Yes, exactly. Green and Polkadots at the Tour are big, important, iconic, prizes in the sport. Other points and KOM jerseys are not. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. That’s just how it is. Stages are much more important than minor jerseys.

Cimolai won't survive the final hills, will he!?

If so ain't nobody's gonna help Bora chase. But ain't nobody's gonna pull turns in a breakaway containing Sagan either.
They may figure they can drop him in the finale on one of the climbs.

no sagan is not gonna win this stage, in fact bora will do everything they can to let a non threatening breakaway take the stage. For tomorrow you can count out Sagan, Gaviria, Cimolai. This should be a stage for the likes of Tratnik, Affini, Mollema, Hermans, Vanhoucke, Oliveira.
Gaviria might try and get in the break.

Ulissi finished 4th today, so he's brought his climbing legs, presuming he hasn't used them up helping Caruso gain 3s on Bernal. If he gets in the break (and you'd think he'll be trying very hard to) it's hard to imagine there being someone else there who can outclimb and outsprint him.

Okay, that would explain why he is 200-1 :)

It would indeed  . He's right of course, but strange things can happen in sprints after this distance. And it's the Giro of course.

If I had my sensible hat on I'd just say Arndt, but someone's already picked him ;)

What is this the fourth stage where most of it is in the Po plains?? Should be another thrilling day...

Hopefully a large breakaway makes it and fights in the hills because watching the peloton stay 3 minutes behind all day will be even worse.

We have 30kms of hills. A whole bunch of riding the flats before hand.

Wind?
