I feel a bit sad for Bahrain. They seem to be so well prepared, taking the race serious and sending a very strong team which is willing to animate. Now already two key members crashed out...

Hope Mohoric is more or less fine (concussion seems unavoidable).

Just noticed that the finish of under 6km at under 6% is categorized as cat 1. Because there's only Cima Coppi above cat 1, it's an equivalent of HC in the Tour.

Guess Arcalis is finally deposed from the worst HC climb categorization ever.

Gallopin or Mollema looking to join the "stage wins in all three GTs club" from the break. Though I suspect Dan Martin is still more likely to do that today.

I think it's at best 50/50 for the break to make it. If i had to bet right now i would put my money on bernal for the stage win.

There's no point in holding back with two rest days to come.

I'm listening to the Australian broadcast.
The one announcer is just reading the PCS live stats

The Giro used to have an 'arrival' category which essentially awarded any MTF >cat.1 status. The beautiful Pescocostanzo stage of 2008, much as though I praised it and enjoyed it as a stage and design, from a GPM perspective it was kind of stupid as it therefore had more points available (15) for the 3km uphill punch than were available for Manghen or Mortirolo (10). This feels like a throwback to that!

I think the break could do with another minute. I'd be expecting a team to increase the pace on the penultimate climb if it's this close.

Nice interview with remco, seems to be in good spirits to take the fight to bernal on the finish.
