SD effective but ugly racing
I'm not sure it is ugly tbh.

I suppose a strong team in one day races is more appealing to watch than a strong team in stage races. For me anyway.

The Steppers, and SDWorx now, are able to keep firing riders up the road because of their strength in depth. I don't particularly find that ugly personally. Although then smothering any racing behind is perhaps the ugly bit.

Sky and Jumbo trains on the other hand... Now that IS ugly!

Well, Elisa Longo Borghini was only going to win solo, because she'd lose a sprint to her own shadow so she had to lead and drop Chantal on the hill into the town. That's the problem she has there, she can't bluff in the run-in to it at all because of that, whereas with VDB behind, VDB-B can. "Drop me if you can". If Elisa sits up, SD Worx have the numbers. If Chantal shares the work and goes into that final climb equally tired with Elisa, she's more likely to lose.

Poor Rivi. Was in the break, got a mechanical on one of the sectors, and just got caught - walking with his bike - by the main pack.

Who’s the QS rider that attacked after Asgreen?

Hmm, maybe I mistook Samitier.

The upcoming sector will be mostly headwind, afaik. Monte Santa Maria after that will have crosswinds, mostly.

I can't believe we can finally watch this race with some kind of peace, without being rushed into things as soon as the coverage starts and having a chance to enjoy the scenery for a few minutes. This is how it should be!
