10 riders up the road have 3 mins+ at the moment, only QS working on the front of the main group and gap going out.

Appreciative crowd through the town.

Some other, more exposed, races could take a leaf out of ToP's book starting with lengthy stages.

Sad they left those steep bergs south of Rzeszów that were a couple years back. Possibly another case of bad surface?

Sure Almeida can grab a win in a weak field like Tour de Pologne. That doesn't count.

Ha ha ha
Yet Remco wins and he is going to walk the Giro ???

The field is plenty strong for the type of parcours ..Mohoric , Wellnes, Kwaito, Ullissi ,etc are very strong on these finishes...stronger than Fuglsang, Yates and much like Schachmann and Carapaz. These are not the alps

And also it depends on the form of the rider , eg Carapaz was not in form when the wonder kid won

90% of bergs south of Rzeszów have really great surface, so it wouldn't be a problem to create a loop including them - just like the one in '17 or even something harder, cause that stage ended up with a sprint finish anyway.

All of the above mentioned riders are strong, but how can you say Wellens, Ulissi, etc are stronger than Fuglsang 2019/2020. The Dane was probably the best hilly rider in the World at the time.

Also I'm willing to bet the poster you were replying to, was being sarcastic.

UAE, Deceuninck and Bahrain leading the bunch. Van der Hoorn, Taminiaux and Clarke somehow staying ahead with a 30-something second lead with 19 kilometres to go. Leading trio seems to be cooperating and they are staying away.
Who came up with the idea of a 226k stage with all hills in the first part of it in a one week race?
Race organisers where the capital of the Voivodeship (region) is surrounded by flat. It's really a waste though, there are some cool hills south of Rzeszów.

9 kilometres to go, they're in Rzeszów now, and the leading trio is still 30 seconds ahead. They're working together, Deceuninck is working behind. Local lap should help the leaders.

These three could be quite stubborn now that they've got rid of the passengers. Tamineaux leaving a gap with the Polish rider on his wheel and then jumping across the gap a minute later was a fun move

First crossing of the finish line and after keeping a 30 second lead for a while, the escaping trio are now slightly losing time, their lead hovering just above 20 seconds. It's a big ask, but... 6 kilometres to go
