Küng really deserved a nice win after just missing out on that Olympic medal.
I just saw that Gall rode the mixed relay TTT for Austria, now it makes sense that I saw him training on the TT bike around Lienz last Saturday.

Great bunch of contenders, some really nice to watch riders, very elegant...
I think Ganna has already had two peaks, for Giro, and even bigger, for the track Olympics. Maybe he will work a bit more towards the Worlds, but he already had a great year. Not easy to do it all, track, domestique, time trial specialist.
Happy for Küng who had quite some back luck and got beaten a lot this year. I suppose he prepared this really well.
Evenepoel was impressive considering the totally flat route and that pretty much everyone around him (apart from maybe Bissegger) is a really big guy.

Worrying signs for Denmark recently: Apart from Cort and Honoré, I don't see the Danish riders getting impressive results. Asgreen 7th today is not as good as hoped, and Bjerg was a disaster. Fuglsang out, Kragh has not been at his best and crashed the other day, Vingegaard has been miserable too - it's a long list of disappointments actually. Not at all like a month ago, where the selection looked really strong.

Evenepoel has already beaten both Küng and Ganna on a flat EC course. I don't really find this performance impressive, but it's just further proof that he is a top level time trialer, when he's on form.
I didn't expect Küng to win, cause there is more often than not at least one guy better than him, but today there wasn't. Congrats to him!

Honestly might rather be fourth a min back with 2 seconds behind 2nd then 3rd 2 seconds behind first. I think that would eat at me way more knowing I was so close to winning and going over what I could have done different to be faster.

Sure, but still the flat TTs doesn't seem to be an actual Achilles' heel for him, and without his problems last week, he might have done even better today.

Küng was a beast today, didn't expect him to win after his medium showing in Benelux Tour. Ganna was great but probably slightly paid his effort yesterday and Evenepoel showed again that his lack of size is not a problem even for flat TTs (he didn't have the luxury of having a target during the course either).
