Vamonos...
The final GT of the season starts on 14th August, and so does our final CQ game. As ever, scores and prices are based on CQRanking.com: to play the game choose 8 men riding in the Vuelta who have a total score for the year up to the race of 3500 points. Your points in the game will be those given by CQ for performance in the race.
There is no adjusting of the team once the race has started: this is a one-shot game, so if your star rider DNFs on stage one, you are in the same position of helpless resignation to fate as his team manager.
This spreadsheet shows the points riders can win (Summary: 500, 375, 315, 265, 240 for the first 5 on GC, down in steps to 135 for 10th, 66 for 20th, 44 for 30th and 15 for any finisher below 50th; 70, 40, 25 for the first 3 on a stage, down to 1 for tenth; the same scale of points for overall Pts and Climber jersey contests (nothing for white jersey), and 18 for leading GC at the end of a stage. Team TT points are different) but more importantly it has the prices for each rider that are applicable, which are the points a rider has earned in the 12 months to 8th August (minus some races held late in 2020 for which the 2021 edition has already happened). If you don't use that spreadsheet and prefer to look at CQ directly, then please be careful that you are using Sunday's prices and the 12 month points, not just the 2021 score .
Send me your teams by the time the first riders roll down the ramp for stage one on 14th August; use the PM facility on either VeloRooms or Cycling News forum to reach me. It helps me if you give only the names of the riders (no teams or prices) and in the same format as CQ uses: they are also on the spreadsheet I mention above.
I appreciate that while this is familiar to those who have played these games before, I have probably not been as clear as I should be because I am hurrying somewhat this evening. If you haven't played before but are interested, put a query in this thread or drop me a note.
