The best scoring team I could find in this classification within budget is:
ROGLIC Primoz
JAKOBSEN Fabio
CORT NIELSEN Magnus
STORER Michael
DAINESE Alberto
KRUIJSWIJK Steven
CALMEJANE Lilian
Any of 12 guys with cost<22 and no green points

This lot would have scored 1328 in the green points classification alone.

Similarly, those who brought their managers over 100 points in total for the main game:

FJ/Bernal/MAL + ave of Bardet & Dainese

Almost as important to having success as having Roglic was not having Bernal: once he had been bought, it was almost impossible to get enough points to make up for his relatively poor showing. MAL was not a total disaster in the game, unlike the more expensive and more popular Landa (and unlike Valverde: the two teams that paid out big for him occupy the last two places.)

But Roglic's score was so huge, and Jakobsen such good value, that you could reach the game's podium with Cepeda or Cherel as your 3rd highest scorer once you had those two (or make the top ten with Cerny as your second best if you had Roglic).

Blues in the Bottle got a very decent 5th place, but would actually have done better if he had opted for his alternative selection that featured Mas, Haig, Bernal, Kuss and Dainese (would have come 3rd). Mellow Velo, on the other hand, will be glad to have gone for this team rather than the alternative he shared that had Jakobsen, Yates, Bernal, Dainese and Lopez, which would have seen him tenth rather than top.

The best possible team I can find would not have Roglic or Bernal, but has 8 of the top ten scoring riders and is still within budget:
MAS NICOLAU Enric
HAIG Jack
JAKOBSEN Fabio
YATES Adam
CORT NIELSEN Magnus
EIKING Odd Christian
STORER Michael
MÄDER Gino
for 2701 points

I tried a few combinations with Roglic: the best I could find was very similar to the best green points team but with Cras instead of Calmejane, and Cabedo as the <22 price rider, getting 2549.

I have got a few more names and numbers to share, but must get to bed...

And finally, the Four Seasons Challenge for those who have taken part in all 4 of the games I run during the season. Leadbelly was so far ahead in this that there seemed no likelihood of him being challenged: Otoxiep87 reduced the gap considerable, but not enough to stop the winner of the Spring and TdF games from gaining the year's top position.

In the Four Seasons, the average scores are
Velorooms 6481 (Leadbelly, Otoxiep, Rote Laterne, Amis Velo, Search)
CN 5746 (BitB, TRiley36, Bminchow, Comodoro, Del1962)
(Mellow Velo not included, as he has contributed by both for different games)

Thanks to all who entered the Vuelta game, or any of these; well done to Mellow Velo, to TRiley for the minor classification, and to Leadbelly for the consistency through the year.

And thanks to CQRankings, without whom none of this would have been possible.
