Can't wait for the end of Neben's career, but will it ever happen?
ITT Mayflies emerging from the North American scene at the Worlds are nothing new, it's just that Neben appears to be the last remnant of the previous generation of that, and now Dygert has transferred over to Europe, even if her management team/USAC seem to have more control over her calendar than Canyon-SRAM, there aren't yet any clear emerging replacements. Neben is probably going to Jeannie Longo things at this rate, unless somebody in the scene can emerge in Dygert's absence as a viable second national contender - not many people really specialising as ITT riders on the domestic calendar in the last few years as Chloe was annihilating everybody.
to be fair poc helmets should only be worn by 'saddos' at a star wars convention....

They mostly look like props from movies covered on MST3K.

Reusser couldn't quite keep the pace up, but right now it looks like there will be a WC title for her in the future.
It was third time lucky for Van Dijk against Reusser. Congrats to her.

Remco was quite strong in that secon
I think a pan-flat Team Time Trial which is won by a team including Peter Sagan and Sepp Kuss while wearing POC time trial helmets would be possibly be the worst imaginable thing that could happen in cycling.
Don’t forget to sign up Jessi Diggins for your mixed team time trial! ;)

I suspect that Reusser is best suited to ITT's 25kms or less - Van Dijk has let the cat out of the bag as she is one of my favorites for PR.

Great race by the women's elite, today. Is it just me, or does Annemiek look not as super-lean as in some prior races? Maybe she didn't want to be as lightweight for this type of course? (But there's still the RR coming.)

Germany should get a medal in the mixed relay. Tony Martin, Arndt, Walscheid, Brennauer, Klein and Kröger, that's some serious firepower.
Italy has all 3 of their TTers on the men's side, but they lack strength on the women's side. They have ELB, if she starts, but not too many other good TTers atm.

not really, no, and without Ganna, I'd also say the men are unlikely to get an advantage over the Germans. NL is likely to be strong as well of course, but on paper it looks like Germany should be the favourite.

These are the teams which sent in a confirmation to participate, btw:
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Spain
  • France
  • Great Britain
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • Switzerland
  • USA
  • UCI World Cycling Centre

Have the Dutch women for the mixed relay been fully confirmed? PCS doesn't list them, and FirstCycling still has Van der Breggen in the team, but it didn't sound like she was going to use her TT bike ever again, so I assumed she would be replaced by Riejanne Markus.

It actually is the case:
