Yeah, very surprised that the peleton is gifting Keldermann all those minutes. Not that I think he'll make up 3-5 minutes in the final week (assuming the gap stays as it is right now) but it's just handing Bora another card to play with for seemingly no reason. Strong team + Hindley, Buchmann and Keldermann all in contention is a great look for them.

I would not give Keldeman 8 minutes back, but on the other hand it would be a lot of work for a single rider who isn't really a podium threat (now watch him pull a Floyd^^)

Yeah, it's less about Kelderman and more about Bora as a unit. That's a lot of very competent cards to play now.

Crazy that this trio gets the stage.
All three of them had teammates behind and BikeExchange were the only other team with multiple riders, so the circumstances were there. Of course, you still need some short-sighted tactics behind for it to play out that way, but it also helps when the climbers pull back just 20 seconds on the climb. Which only happens when you have a strong group up front, so whoever wins this deserves a fair bit of credit for more reasons than just tactics.

Stage has been super hard as well, loads of effort spent to get in the breakaway, it would hardly ne about climbing legs in the first place
