If it stays like this it's actually perfect for Bora, two guys ahead and basically everyone isolated, Carapaz has only Sivakov left. Very disappointing if they don't try anything.

If Sivakov has to pull on the flat afterwards and Porte doesn't make it back (mainly because of Nibali's tempo on the descent) they are actually in a good position.

Bit of a shame, we could have seen some real damage on this descent if the circumstances had been a bit more favourable. Astana is just not strong enough to have good men to bridge to in the breakaway as well as someone who can shred the peloton up the Mortirolo climb.

Probably because he is trying to make up on the straight sections, getting higher top speed and trying to brake late yet hard before the corner which he has to take slower than the others.
