Lefevere with a wry smile thinking "So glad I kept Masnada and let Almeida go"
Landa might still need more time on Almeida to secure a podium though.Perfect day for Carapaz. But with Almeida out of the picture now, I don't think Landa and Hindley will allow him to lean on them as much going forward. So we should see more stop and go between the best climbers.
Surely getting a gap on Landa made it worth it.Sprinting like no one told them about Hirt and Carthy.
Big gaps today, but I'm finding Hindley slightly bizarre
That's what you get when you design both stages around really similar final climbs.Hindley/Landa/Carapaz - Almeida - Nibali - rest
On consecutive mountain stages.
No, yesterday Hirt won against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier climbers, and today Buitrago won against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier climbers. The difference between the stages were immense.Guys did I miss the stage or a rerun of yesterday?
Slow learner.Meida really lost over 1min, according to the RAI motobike he was asking for a gel to eat on top of the climb and cracked on the false flat afterwards, no longer able to push his biggest gear. Maybe a hunger knock.
Big gaps only because there are, at a push, five decent GC riders left in the race. The strength in depth is Giro 2020/Vuelta 2019 levels of awful.Big gaps today, but I'm finding Hindley slightly bizarre
Like actually, who actually cares enough if some guy name LEMREIZJSE or whatever he is called wins ahead of Buitrago? Yes, no one. I dont want to see this god damn rider on my screen anymore until he crosses the line. This is definitely not what I tuned in for.
Born, raised, developed, educated, living in Belgium. Van Aert only works for a Dutch team, so close enough!Wiggins thinking VDP and Van Aert are compatriots![]()
I wonder if he doesn't totally trust his form, or whether he's afraid that Carapaz is bluffing. Or that he'd rather have Ineos control the race until the Dolomites.Big gaps today, but I'm finding Hindley slightly bizarre
