Giro d'Italia 2022 Giro d'Italia, Stage 20: Belluno – Marmolada 168 km (Saturday, May 28th)

Page 28 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
There was a moment when Hindley had a devil and an angel perched on his shoulders.

The little devil on his left shoulder whispered in his ear

"It's okay Jai. No need to do anything. You'll win this Giro in the time trial tomorrow. Forget about 2 years ago"

The angel meanwhile, refused to whisper. He reached in his back pocket, took at a gigantic megaphone - Jai had no idea how it fit in there - and the angel just screamed the undying words:

FEDAIAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

The little devil was Mick freakin Rogers.

I have no idea who the angel was, but it probably wasn't Simon Gerrans.

Could well be coming down sick with the same virus as Porte, but could just be a bad day as happens to any rider occasionally.

Remco rode wrong Giro, he could've won this one

No he wouldn't ...he cant descend or climb high mountains

Give it a rest will you

This giro was poor for excitement but it was very very hard and rode hard for 2.5 weeks which people dont seem to understand
This idea that the riders didnt ride hard is a ridiculous fallacy as is the one that everyone else would have won by a mile
Only Pog or Rog could have done better imo
Probably Bardet, Martinez , Vlasov and Caruso would have been around the same as the Giro p[odium but maybe would have produced more excitement

Remco could have been in pink early but not in the final week

Would you elaborate?

I'm not his biggest fan admittedly, but I felt their leader was in with a genuine shot of at least a GC podium and was limiting his losses very well earlier in the Giro, however his teammates were nowhere to be seen at all crucial moments. It isn't lack of form either, as shown with Covi's excellence today and with Formolo's earlier breakaway stage. I get the impression from races like this and Catalunya that their directors are telling them unless Pogacar is racing to just go out and do your own thing.

Apparently Hindley faster on Fedaia than Pantani in 1998.
Hopefully much of the top end of the peloton is faster than Pantani by now, those guys back then ate crap, trained crap, ignored science and favoured old wives tales like removing the middle of their bread to climb faster Coppi & Anquetil nonsense. They never found out it was all nonsense because they didn't need to find out because they d0ped to find performance anyway.

Caruso lol. Mas and Vingegaard would be better names than some that you have listed.
