It’ll either be Ewav, Cav, or MVDP/Gaviria from something happening. Demare and Nizzolo don’t have the speed so far.

But is he going to ride the whole Giro or withdraw before the final week to prepare for the Tour?
there are still some stages in the 3d week he could win. I think he wants to finish the giro, but not necessarily go for the points jersey.

2nd week has more opportunities but maybe he can contest Ca de Poggio stage if Marezcko goes home before or his dropped like a stone there or even the last TT. Anyway, Napoli stage next Saturday should be his next goal although stage 7 could also be possible from the breakaway

If ever a stage needed a Jacky Durand or Thomas De Gendt type break; but it will probably be decided by the elbowers and swervers.........

MvdP to attack on the legendary Balatongyörök sector and solo 70 km to the finish.

I barely know which sprinters decided to take the start in this race, but I guess its a watch the last 10 km angle.

Why not just look at the start list? I know you think it's so cool to feign complete disinterest in sprinting, though.

Since MVDP was so good, Canyon had to make another pink bike

Mareczko will be out of the race after next Sunday, can't see him surviving the Blockhaus stage. Which gives Van der Poel (and Oldani) more options from there.

Anyone in the UK know why they aren't showing the stage on eursport? Both channels seem to be showing touring cars and motocross.

I'm still in disbelief MVDP willingly sacrifices his own sprint (and a shot at the ciclamino) to support... Mareczko in these sprints.

I mean if Merlier or Philipsen were here I'd understand. But without them for the love of god just try sprinting. Yes you won't win against Cav or Ewan but you can easily Sagan your way to points jersey
Who said that MVDP can't drop Mareczko off his wheel during a leadout? (Not that I wouldn't like Mareczko to do well here, as he's my half-countryman).

This is an argument for the Tour being the hardest grand tour. It may not have the toughest mountains, but there are stronger breakaways, less soft-pedalling.

I mean wasn't so long ago we were seeing stages with no breakaways in the tour. At least the Italian pro conti teams will get in a break.

Which is such *** lol. That's just because they didn't have a real argument for the Tour being the biggest race in the world other than "it just is" which is true, so they called it the hardest one. Then, becuase the parcours is arguably the easiest or 2nd easiest one, they just had to make up some BS.

It really makes me think of the insane bias towards the PL a lot of English football fans have. "Can Messi do it at a cold rainy night at Stoke?"

They often do this on a weekend and it's even worse if there's tennis or snooker are going on. It's worth thinking about subscribing to the Discovery+ or GCN which both show all of the race.. Talking about £40 a year,

Well, Ronaldo couldn't do it on a sunny day in Brighton ;)
