Not sure what's worse: nobody setting any sort of pace in the peloton up the climb when the fastest sprinter is the worst climber or the breakaway losing ground regardless.

Minus two riders, Vansevenant is certainly in the peloton and I think Schmid hasn't been told to drop back either.Whole Qucikstep team dropped.
Lotto Soudal needs to drop other sprinters and they have a chance. But will they? Milano Sanremo showed you can drop sprinters even on shallow climbs.
Ewan himself dropped by Alpecin pace

Affected by the crash I reckon.Crazy how Ewan can punch with the best on the Poggio's, do the same on stage 1 of this race, then be the first to drop on a climb like this a few days later.
It's happened in the past too though, for example in the first stage of the 2020 Tour.Affected by the crash I reckon.

It's happening and the stage 4 thread is in ashes.Petrol bomb the stage 4 thread, sticky the stage 5 thread, hit the red bull and get stoked about a few sprinters getting dropped on the Portella.
IWG, ISN and UAE should probably help after climb.Alpecin needs to be careful not to drop too many riders which could later merge with Cav and Ewan(?) and make the chasing easier.

Surly they will. They're only 3' behind.IWG, ISN and UAE should probably help after climb.
