5 stages and 767.3 km awaits, as the peloton heads to Denmark for yet another race starting on the island of Sjælland/Zealand. There's even a bridge to look forward to on stage 3 (it's like that other one, just smaller), so expect another crosswind bonanza of epic proportions. There are also both gravel and short, but very steep climbs in the race (just look at the pretty profiles below), which will finish in Vejle for the first time.

The field is so strong, that the defending champion has decided to go to Spain instead of battling it out with a bunch of former and future GT, monument, Olympic and WC winners. Even the recent Tour de France winner was too much of a chicken to race on his home roads.

But who will be handed the trophy on Saturday and go in down in history as the winner of this edition of the race?

Honestly, what are those stages profiles? Im sure thats Jesper Worre's fault, at least Im gonna blame him for that.

The field is better than anything we have ever seen, and we have some pretty decent stages. Definitely looking forward to the race.

Highlights among the starters include:

Three GT winners, but not the Danish one. Edit, only two.
A former World Champion, but not the Danish one.
And HRE going full Banaszek.

great to see that they brought in a gravel stage to attract riders preparing for Plouay and Paris Tours.

I'm a surprised but not surprised that Vingegaard isn't riding. Not to be competitive, but maybe to process a few hangovers while getting massive exposure.

He must simply have had enough of crowds for a while. That's the only reason I can see (apart from the race not being very big, of course).

It's quite funny that he fought for the win on Kiddesvej three years ago with fellow climbers Niklas Larsen, Lasse Norman and Rasmus Quaade.

any idea what the new climb after Kiddesvej is like? Does this new, longer circuit make it easier or harder?

They are climbing "Højen Skovvej" from the easier side. It's no big deal.

But the hard part of Højen Skovvej is used as a descent. It's narrow, wooded, convoluted and potentially wet. And last time I was riding it, there were big holes of crushed asphalt at the bottom of the climb. Hopefully that has been fixed.

Would you prefer dead flat profiles that only inform about distance? I think they are good.

Well, other than the embarrassing mistake of writing 110 m - Jelling for the second intermediate sprint on stage 5, which is in fact in Jerlev (at ~71 m).

Which island do you live on and where is it located? • Sjælland - Located in Denmark and consists of the larger islands Zealand and Lolland. • Bornholm - An island located in the Baltic Sea, situated between the rest of Denmark and Sweden. • Fyn - A Danish island in the Baltic Sea, in the eastern part of the country, with a population nearing 100,000. • Møn - An island with a population of 13,000 and has Denmark's highest peak at 174 meters above sea level. • Falster - Is located

I feel they are trying to sell a product that isn't really there with these Ardennes style parcours

Please, I can't cope with the suspense here. Where is Falster located? Is it in Germany?

There has been some debate about which point is the highest peak in Denmark, but it's certainly not on Møn.
