Race 13: E3 Harelbeke
We have a team in the game called 'Jumbo Visma Fan', but even he didn't get the top two in what became (yet another) JV show of strength. In fairness, their prices were rather daunting.

But among those that we did pick:

I had totally forgotten that Industria & Artigiano was on today: only noticed when I looked at the list of races to see when my next update was to be. I'll be back with that one soon(ish).

Race 15: GP Industriana & Artigianato

Although I had forgotten it, it won't delay me long:
Tony Gallopin in 7th place was the only rider selected in the game in the top 30, gaining 40 points (and 80 Green points) for Salvarani, who rises 7 places to 16th in the Green points table and one place, also to 16th, in the main game.

That's it.

Madrazo moves back to the top, and Rufs recovers from his recent slump to the temporary podium. Otoxiep goes from 12th to 4th, which shows that plenty of teams are still in with a chance of a decent position. I've applied the principle I use in the GT games (omit the highest scorer) to separate Laarsland and JVF.

The only riders in the game that are on the Startline of GP Miguel Indurain are
Clarke, Gall, Kamna, Paret-Peintre (V), Quintana and Van Gils.

Kamna is on 6 teams, the other 5 are unique picks. None of the Kamna teams have one of the other 5 riders.

And I really need to find something constructive to do to fill my Saturday...

Not as big a points haul as we might expect from this race, but points for everyone, and at least some of the top ten made it into our teams.

There is only one more 'proper' cobbles race left, and most points from now on come from sprinters and those suited to the hillier rides. Who has the riders for those?

ScheldePrijs on Wednesday. We can only wonder which riders will still have collarbones for the 6 races that follow it.

CyclingNews still well out in the lead, 755 to VeloRooms' 679 (average scores)

And in case you have lost the link, here is the spreadsheet.

With 6 races left, and 80 points to the winner of each race, in theory even the two teams with just one point each could win this classification. But by now, we all know who will.

So now we have the Ardennes-ish races before Paris Roubaix, and then the Ardennes proper after that. Damned democracy messing up our season.

Even if the throw of the bikes had gone the other way, the points from Benoot would have given Scrool the win today. But Laarsland will nevertheless be happy with what follows...

So great was Scrool's winning margin, coupled with decent scores for the Velo brothers (Amis and Mellow), that the large lead that CN had in the interforum challenge has been overturned.

Leadbelly rose 10 places, but still only in 15th.

CQ Points
Laarsland outscores his closest challengers again, and although a few teams moved several places, only one of them (JVF) seems significantly positioned.

Paris-Roubaix on Sunday. Will all the big points be taken by the riders we deemed too expensive to buy, or will we get some significant scoring here?

Pidcock is relevant for closing down on Laarsland, buut not in terms of who wins if the leader is caught.
Jungels is relevant only because Rufs lacks him. The same is true of De Lie, who is, with Laarsland's Kristoff, one of only two riders from these teams in the early listings for Frankfurt.

I thought I would check whether the results that I post (often marked by CQ as provisional, but I don't want to wait too long until that tag is removed before I update), and found that three results had been changed:

Omloop
In a reversal of what was originally announced, Naesen is 4th and Campanaerts 5th: that means 8 extra points for the 9 teams with Naesen (Armchair Cyclist, Del 1962, Evans is the Best, Jumbo Visma Fan, Laarsland, Los Brolin, Madrazo, Search and Vladimir) and a corresponding loss of 8 for the 3 Campenaerts teams (Berflamand, Rufs and Slow Climber)
That is enough for Evans to overtake SlowClimber for 10th, and for Del1962 to move up 2 places to 19th.

There are concomitant changes in green points: JBV +10, Del +10, Search +5, Vladimir +2, Josedin +1, Madrazo +1, Rufs -9, Berflamand -20. Rufs drops to 8th in the green table, Jumbo Fan and Otoxiep87 passing him.

Also, but not affecting any scores, it was Tobias Johannessen, not Jonas Abrahamsen, who came 56th.

GP Denain
Timo Roosen (11th) was omitted from the early results, and he was a unique pick for Redhead Dane, who therefore takes 32 rather than 12 points from that race. She remains the 4th highest scorer, and is now the lowest scorer, because Guillaume Van Kiersbulck, who had been 30th, drops to 31st and therefore out of the points, costing DJSprsch and Search 5 points, and 12.5 green points, each.

There were also errors in the Strade Bianche result, but they included unselected riders (Zamperini instead of Zambanini, Francisco Guerrero instead of Ruben of that ilk, and three riders who were in fact OTL had been given points)

I wonder what I have missed by way of corrections in previous years...
