Then it should have happened before the creation of the thread. Now it would be more like the Festina scandal with posters dropping out midrace, because they're worried the moderators will find their pre-prepared posts in their trash folders.

Ha! They won't get anything from me. I just pre-prepare my posts in my brain, and post them later. Sometimes.

Did they forget the depart reel?

They're off now.
Van Den Berg trying to truly do as Cort did, though he has company.

Strange that cycling fans complain about having a boring stage in a grands tour in the first week. As if this one porfessional sport owes them the highest possible amount of mental stimulation and dopamine on a daily basis.

This stage has meaning just as a 200km stage in the dolomites does.

Feel like these grand tour stages had more of the mass crashes when there were 200 riders a few years ago, wonder how much it helped by reducing the size.

Indeed.

Imagine the complaining if in the early 2000s GT stages would be broadcasted in full when Cipo would be at the front at 30km/h and nobody dared to attack or ride faster.

I think these stages absolutely have their right to exist and belong to a Grand Tour. I'm not advocating to erase or replace them. But there's no denying they are boring as white paper and it's pretty silly to broadcast them in full, especially with commentators sometimes hyping them up a bit. Also, for me it doesn't make such a big difference, but for many people it does: Why have them on a weekend?

I tend to not watch the sprint stages, but just switched on the tele.

Rarely is a sprint stage this beautiful :O

Those trees and alleys :hearteyes::hearteyes::hearteyes:
I only just now tuned in with about 60km to go, didn't even check the stage profile beforehand. Once I saw the profile I was about to tune back out but your comment makes me want to hang on with dear life - if nothing else we've always got scenery to look at! :tearsofjoy:

The stages to broadcast in full should be the clear breakaway stages imo. Those are the ones where it's exciting to watch.

This is beautiful but I don't get very stimulated as I don't have a thing for any of the present sprinters :D

But the start of a breakway hilly or mountain stage is oftentimes among the most exciting there is!

Well, I think my opinions on this are well known. You can not watch race that's being broadcast. You can't watch a race that's not being broadcast.
