I think FDJ will be happy to keep the gap at under 6 minutes for now and hope that some of the other GC teams will help later on in the stage. Those looking at a high GC placing won't want too many riders getting 5 minutes plus ahead in the overall standings even if they aren't outright contenders.

I doubt very much if Pinot envisaged that he might have to work as a domestique prior to this Vuelta but it is quite possible over the next few days.
