I for one am glad for the return of TTTs, it's been too long. I guess they could've done a shorter one as a prologue, but the gaps aren't too big in the end, the only problem was the unequal conditions since the roads dried out in the end.

Dang… Letting Gesink take the jersey brings a burning, teary sensation to the corners of my eyes… That’s pretty classy, even if I have to think they sacrificed some pace keeping the likes of Kuss and Gesink on-board for the finish

Kuss is second GC rider at Jumbo. They want to keep him as high as possible in the standings for tactical reasons, so it made total sense to save his legs & keep him in touch all the way to the finish.
