Year 1 Month 5 1st-28th May
Looks like other things have been happening while my attention has been on the Giro. Hessmann and Paret-Peintre minor are our top scorers from the Giro, but Derek Gee was eligible and would have been top scorer this month and (perhaps inevitably) second in the year to date. Stage winner Davide Bais was also eligible but unpicked. But the one who is ahead of him is already making the three teams that lack him look like they will struggle.

Standings
The riders on Ludwigzgz' team seem to have mainly been sat watching the Giro: falling from 1st to tenth is rare, even at the early stage of a game. Joelsim came 3rd this month, having already been second, so steps up, but the two teams outscoring him in May each take 5 place moves through the top ten.
Is there any way back for the Gregoire-less trio of Greenedge, Hfgon and Redhead Dane?

It's weird. I felt super good with my choices but I'm so low in the standings. I guess it's because everybody have such similar squads but I missed out on Penhoet.
Your problem might be with the fact that you have choices that are expected to be good, and therefore are popular. Apart from Leonard, anyone that you have that does well is going to be beneficial to a number of teams that are above you already. But it is too early to give in yet: at least you have Gregoire.

Take in mind that this update is until 28 may... All my 3 teams (21-23, 22-24 & 23-25) scored a good amount of points with Tour of Norway GC, and this 23-25 team will benefit also from Lenny & Lennert points at MercanTour classic.

@Anderis to have a popular team is not a bad thing... I always had a rather popular team and most of the years my teams do well in this game. The key is consistency, to have a lot of the top performers - and as less as you can of the no-performers (obvious innit?)
Anyway, year 1 results almost never are a good indicator of how the team will perform during the 3 years.

I'm not a newbie to similar types of games and I know that having a popular team is not a bad thing and actually being low in popularity rankings is more often a predictor of failure than success.
Nonetheless it's kinda weird how I feel that most of my riders are performing really well, yet I'm in bottom half of the standings. It's not a thing I've ever experienced in other games. I guess the best picks were just very obvious for this game.

My Irish squad is really letting me down at the moment. Still I did forecast a banner year for Ireland so I should get a percentage of Dunbar's and Healy's success.
Can't say I'm too happy about my Irishman either. Archie Ryan has had a total of zero race days this season due to knee problems.

But we're both less than a monument win from 1st place, so when he wins Lombardia in 2025, we'll be fine!

Neither Joelsim nor SafeBet has Alec Segaert, which allowed Devil's Elbow to overtake both of them and assume pole position. Whether that, or any other inclusion or oversight, is the one that really matters will be resolved over the next 2 1/2 years.

Still plenty of movement, and opportunity for future movement, in a tightly condensed table.

Spreadsheet

I think the only rider selected for this game who will be starting the Tour is Matthew Dinham. Looks like we will have to glean our July points elsewhere.

Sorry it has been a while since the last update (end of the Tour would have been a good opportunity to do it, but it passed me by)
Also note that the points are to 20th August: CQ didn't put up an update for 27th, and I won't have as much time if I wait until next weeks. So some point inclusions that you may have expected by now are missing.

We have a few of these guys in La Vuelta: one of them leading it. We'll see how many points they take from it in the next update.
