Why not?

Penhoet was outscoring Hessmann and Gloag last year. So if they're even now, that's like a gain for me compared to last year.

Hessman and Gloag haven't scored this year (same as Penhoet), so they are not the reason that you "suddenly score much better compared to other players".

But moving up is good, but allow yourself to feel good about it by celebrating your picks rather than belittling your achievement by attributing to the absence of a rider on other teams. Yay for Morgado, Segaert, Christen and Thompson (less popular than Penhoet and got you some return this time around)

But Penhoet was the most popular rider I didn't have and who was doing well, so I very much attribute this to him being absent from the equation.

If you see what I was writing last year, I was kinda surprised that I was doing average despite feeling good about many of my picks. I figured out that missing out on Penhoet was the reason, and the fact that most of my good picks were very popular.

Am I really supposed to be proud of Reuben Thompson's 37 points this year? He's been a rather average pick, less than what I had hoped for when I had picked him.
