In the initial draft for that post, I concluded that Ilmaestro was in worse shape than Masnada and that he needed to up his game during the Giro, but In the end I decided to go with a bad pun based on the fact that the lowercase Pi resembles TT for time trial.
Sorry. I'm tapering to freshen up for the 3rd week of il Giro. With first Giro since 2012 with no Fausto, Vincenzo or mikel landa, its a bit different. Opportunities to enjoy and support other riders. But I will get especially excited if remco does a wrong turn or has a tantrum

If roglic catches Remco in this TT, he will be the favourite by a mile :).

Do we know who starts before Remco? is there a possibility he can catch them?
edit: see that 'search' lived up to his nickname and gave a link to the start order:
LEKNESSUND Andreas
HOOLE Daan
REMCO

so seems likely he can catch one. (Hoole)

Hoole is a capable TTer so not sure he'll catch him, but Hoole can certainly become a target.

Hoole lost 3.7s per km during the ITT in Australia. That would result in a loss of 1m12s to Remco. It looks like he is the perfect target.
Luck is yet again on Evenepoel's side.

Well, we could see some serious aero advantages with this TT already. This time around though, the order does not benefit Ganna, like it did during the '22 Tirreno.

Evenepoel starts behind Hoole, who is a decent but not top-tier TT'er who could not only serve as a target, but might also serve as a nice draft and slingshot Evenepoel into a nice timebump in case he catches him before the climb. Roglic starts after Evenepoel, Küng behind Roglic, and Ganna behind Küng. So chances of them overtaking anybody are slim at best. So considering i have been made out to be the village idiot when previously suggesting this could be the main reason why Küng beat Ganna and Evenepoel at the '21 ECC TT, Ganna beating Evenepoel by 11s in '22 Tirreno, some WTF Jumbo times during the opening TT of the '21 Giro and countless other times, i expect nobody to come crying tomorrow when Evenepoel manages to overtake Hoole in the final part of the TT, and suddenly gets an "inexplicable bonus" on the 2nd part of the TT.

Van Wilder starts behind Ghebreigzabhier.

do you expect him to full out? Hirt indicated that only Cerny has personal ambitions.
Ilan will go full in the first and final TT (if it doesn't get cancelled). He wants to test himself against a quality field even though the TT is probably a bit too flat for him to really get a top result. The second (long) TT, has been undecided whether he will go full out. It will depend on the situation with Evenepoel in GC, and how he (Van Wilder) is feeling.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes full. You've got the next days to recover. Also it's a short TT, he could top 10 here or set a target time for Remco. Or giving hints from his full out ride.

Just noticed Pedersen is on the startlist, what can we expect from him tomorrow? Short effort, with his classics form (declining?).

He already stated he would go full out. Top 10 would be a splendid result for him, considering the field and the fact that it is a flat TT (with a bump). But considering the strong field, i think top 15 in this particular TT is more realistic for him. Not sure how decisive the bumb at the end will be.
