This must be the worst sprinters field in the Giro in a very long time right? Like David Dekker is 2nd.

Dunkerque and Hungary will have better than this.

Not sure Haig or Buitrago were in that group. Think it was just Caruso of the Bahrain gc guys.

Gaviria looked super slow. Groves not good either. Ackermann obviously also but that's not a surprise.

Dekker and Marit on the podium of a GT sprint, shades of the 2016 Vuelta. Bad field and the few big names there are either crashed or just did terrible.

Looked like Evenepoel had to swerve because (i think) Ballerini right in front of him made an evasive manoeuvre for something which i couldn't see on the images. Then the Jumbo guys swerve even harder in reaction, and then others crash. You can see Evenepoel yelling at his teammate after the crash.
So, Ballerini... Is there a more dangerous rider in the peloton?

@F_Cance It's a UAE guy that makes the first swerve by the barriers!
