Wow, they‘re so lucky the stage was hard enough, almost as if they designed it.
Was thinking the same. Lulz.

It turned out the sprinter teams had too many riders left to realistically try anything, but its not like anyone tried anyways. Hard stage and with this kind of weather, we could see some decent gaps tomorrow

Really strange, could do better for Groves instead of sprinting himself.
That's what happens when you tell 2 guys on the same team that they can both sprint for themselfs, they end up blocking eachother.
It's one thing if one of them can't climb to safe his life, but since Groves also gets over the hills pretty well it can get messy if you give both guys the ok.

That final had big "finishing circuit of a flat TdS stage" energy, put it at the end of an easy stage and we see a crashfest.

With that win I wouldn’t want to be a Jayco AlUla domestique in the next two weeks, they might be riding on Wednesday and Thursday and on Stage 10 and 11…

Looking at it again Albanese was in great position when Matthews went for it, but he just didn't have the legs.
It's still his career second-best placement in a Giro stage, not bad given that he started his season less than a month ago. Based on today, a win can only come from the break though.
