Are those their real bodies? I'm looking forward to Skijumper Roglic fan's analysis

Felix Gall goes to the Tour de France instead of the Giro d'Italia!

Dombrowski rides the Giro d'Italia after all.
Without Gall their Giro team is looking a bit on the weaker side, but it is what it is.. He'll ride the Tour de Suisse before the Tour, so I guess it's gc there and supporting O' Connor at the Tour/stagehunting if something goes wrong.

Bora sending Pfalzer to the Giro instead of Fabbro on the other hand makes no sense to me, since Fabbro is in really good shape atm.

I said myself yesterday that maybe Fausto should not be at the Giro. You don't sent a guy with health problems to a grand tour.

Fausto was contesting monuments against Pogacar and getting WT gc podiums and now he is a grupetto rider. He has complained about saddle sore but clearly the impact of mononucleosis is still lingering.

I'm no surprised by this decision. Looks a decent team for Remco anyway. Van Welder, Cattaneo, Hirt, Verbacke can be strong climber and Ballerini, cerny, serry can do rouleur work as well

I have 0 expectation for Fausto in this 2023 season now, I will continue to support him fully but I can't claim that he is a favourite for any race. It's sad how his career developed.

It’s simple. The fraud has been found out.

Yup, goes to show he should have had more opportunities to ride for himself earlier. Never know what could happen in a career. It is sad to see people trolling and making fun of him now.

If Roglic is at his best, then I’d go with him. If he’s not at his absolute peak, Remco with Almeida in 3rd followed by TGH.

Surprised

They holding back for Tour support or something? Not understanding why they didn't go all in and support Remco with the A team. That would include Masnada and Alaphilippe
Because some riders of SQ, of which Alaphilippe is definitely one, can choose what they want to ride. Alaphilippe wants to ride the Tour, which makes sense if he wants to make something of his season.

On paper, yes, but Masnada abandoned in Romandie, and Alaphilippe missed most of the Ardennes through injury. Neither look physically ready to spend three weeks turning themselves inside out for Evenepoel atm.

Asgreen would obviously also be on their A team but Giro doesn't fit with his season plans. And as others said, Masnada just doesn't have it this year.
Yeah, with him doing the cobbled classics it's understandable. The one guy the could have brought for rolling/hilly terrain is Cavagna, who was the best climber on their Romandie team. I'd bring him over Vervaeke.

Vervaeke is very important for Remco. It's his roommate and his go-to person for important (psychological) talks. He always stays calm and apparently is also a good road captain.

I guess he's a bit like Devenyns to Alaphillippe.

Also, in his best form he should be better uphill than Cavagna, who is more of a loose cannon.

Ilan Van Wilder on concerns from Jose De Cauwer: "It makes sense for me to be a domestique for Evenepoel, doesn't it?"
"He is world champion and wins grand tours and classics," Van Wilder continued, referring to Evenepoel. "If I was riding for Jumbo-Visma, I would also have to be a domestique for Vingegaard or Roglic. Were I with UAE Team Emirates, it would be in service of Pogacar. Then I'd rather ride for Remco: a Belgian leader in a Belgian team."

no Masnada either. Pieter Serry got the call instead

Serry was always going to go imho. With Hirt and Cattaneo joining the Giro squad, they chose an extra guy for the flat over a climber that climbs backwards.

Surprised

Have you seen Masnada ride lately?

Sending Palzer to the Giro is most certainly more about marketing then anything, but Fabbro has done absolutely nothing since T-A 21 and will be out of World Tour by the end of the year. It's a pity that Wandahl got hurt as he could have taken Palzers spot but I would have gone with Gamper or Lipowitz in that situation.

Palzer rode ok in Frankfurt so maybe the watts are there but in the end neither Palzer or Fabbro are doing anything for you in a GT team.

To me Fabbro looked fine as a climbing domestique in the TotA. Set a good pace on the mtf and when he was done Konrad couldn't pull for a long time, he was cooked and the gap to Dombrowski was no longer going down for a moment. He also was 3rd from the breakaway 2 days later. He was also a solid climbing domestique for Vlasov in Valenciana this season.

You do have a point that he hasn't been able to replicate his 2020 and early 2021 shape since then. That said, he seems to be on the right track and has done clearly better than Palzer as a domestique this season.
