Niklas Larsen of Uno-X is winning a hugely surprising bronze.
He was one of the most promising prospects in Danish cycling (won Tour of Denmark riding for a continental team in 2019 - ahead of Vingegaard), but a serious injury halted his development.
He seems to finally be back to his former level now, and could be an unexpected jewel for Uno-X the rest of the season (in his last contract year).

The commentators saying Skjelmose may actually have gotten silver, there seems to be a problem with his chip, standing by for confirmation.

Bjerg gets bronze 3 seconds after Skjelmose.
I'd venture a guess, that Skjelmose would have won without the flat, it will have cost him more than 28 seconds to change bike and get back up to speed - He's definitely Tour ready.

Swedish road races are cancelled because people living along the course claimed they couldn’t access their houses during the race. The authorities then revoked the permission two days ahead of the race.
I guess it’s pretty much sums up how bad the situation is for this sport in Sweden. But atleast we have Jenny Rissveds!

Skjelmose wouldn't have been too far behind Asgreen without the mechanical. Fortunately he had a good spare bike unlike Price-Pejtersen.

Focusing 100% on that little race down south.
M. Norsgaard clearly had the wrong approach. At least I'm pretty sure he didn't get stuck in traffic on his way to the start this year.

The Swedish federation should make a deal with Norway or Denmark, to have their riders take part in the nationals there next year.

It was very obvious when Skjelmose crossed the line that he beat Bjerg by two seconds, yet Henrik Liniger spun a tale that it was Larsen's time he was up against. Thank God we don't have to hear Liniger too often, that guy is just clueless and blind.
And I don't think it cost him quite 28 seconds to change bikes. But it would have been very close.

It’s quite interesting what happened in Scandinavia. Like 20 years ago the Sweden was a good cycling nation definitely on par with Norway and maybe slightly behind Denmark. Now the sport is bigger than ever in Norway and Denmark and they have lots of talent while it’s completely dead in Sweden atleast on the men’s side.

He has covered the Tour many, many times for DR. There is no excuse. He is bad at everything he comments on.
I remember back in 2016 where he commented the Olympic Road Race and described E3 Harelbeke as a 1/8 classic (as in two tiers below semi-classics) - it was Kwiatkowski's only win of the season and Liniger had evidently never heard of the race so he was emphasising what a poor season he had had and what an insignificant win he had acquired, even though Sagan and Cancellara had completed the podium (something he obviously had no idea about). How that man has landed such a significant job for such a big medium in Denmark is far, far beyond me.

Nobody knows yet if he is good enough on recovery for a GT, but we will know in a month, and I'd venture a guess they are already in talks.
