He has covered the Tour many, many times for DR. There is no excuse. He is bad at everything he comments on.

I remember back in 2016 where he commented the Olympic Road Race and described E3 Harelbeke as a 1/8 classic (as in two tiers below semi-classics) - it was Kwiatkowski's only win of the season and Liniger had evidently never heard of the race so he was emphasising what a poor season he had had and what an insignificant win he had acquired, even though Sagan and Cancellara had completed the podium (something he obviously had no idea about). How that man has landed such a significant job for such a big medium in Denmark is far, far beyond me.

Fair enough, never watched cycling on DR, TV2 always has the rights for the big races.

But Pog was there.
Between dauphine and le tour is 3 weeks which is enough time for another training camp in altitude. If you go to National Itt it's only 9 or 10 days after dauphine, which is not enough time to do a training camp, travel back to Denmark etc

Pogacr can do nationals becaouse he didn't do daupine . He was at altitude already in Sierra nevada and sestrire until few days ago. Now taper and racing speed for le tour

Swedish road races are cancelled because people living along the course claimed they couldn’t access their houses during the race. The authorities then revoked the permission two days ahead of the race.

I guess it’s pretty much sums up how bad the situation is for this sport in Sweden. But atleast we have Jenny Rissveds!
 Rissveds has a particular set of skills, which are a nightmare for Swedish road riders.

It was very obvious when Skjelmose crossed the line that he beat Bjerg by two seconds, yet Henrik Liniger spun a tale that it was Larsen's time he was up against. Thank God we don't have to hear Liniger too often, that guy is just clueless and blind.

And I don't think it cost him quite 28 seconds to change bikes. But it would have been very close.

It was annoying to constantly hear them talk about how amazing it was that the riders rode so fast.

Some thoughts on the Danish NC ITT:

God damn, Asgreen is tall and skinny. And classy as ***. What a performance! You can only love him, he won the biggest race in the world after all.

Skjelmose sprinted by, he seemed by far the fastest on the uphill stretch I was located at. Bet he was pretty angry after the mechanical (?)

Bjerg is just a beast. Watching him sprinting up the hill like that and imagining he's about so slave away the next 3 weeks, lol. Better get the maximum out of the races before le Tour, eh?

The ITT was fine. Its hard to get really excited about it for me, but that will come on Sunday. We have all the best riders (outside of Jonas) on a local, hilly course in Aalborg, it will be a blast.

Who do I hope will win? One of the Trek riders, and if not, Asgreen. I like Kasper the most, but I think the Trek lads will do more in TdF and I want the national champ to have a decent-big influence on the race. That goes for all the nats jerseys - we don't want some guy wearing it who's not going to show it off in the biggest of races and do something spectacular.

Happy for Rune and his medal. Think in a dry race he could be a bigger threat to Segaert, who is of course a class act.

And this is based on what exactly? Segaert isn't even good in technical circumstances en Herregodts did like a 100 recons of this parcours.

It's based on nothing. On a wet course, not only would Evenepoel not have crashed, but also Van Wilder (who said his power numbers were good) would have beaten him. This was a technical parcours, and it was wet on top of that. So knowing the parcours was a deciding factor. And this parcours was basically in Herregodts' back yard. Not to mention he got some nice draft overtaking Berckmoes on a long straight section into town.

Rune did some recons, but not that many, and he suffered a bit from his health in the aftermath of the Dauphiné. Also, Rune lives in Lokeren (just like me) and we don't consider Herzele our backyard, it's even further away than Aalst. Most of all, he didn't like the parcours at all because he prefers long aero parts instead of constant turns and accelerations. And he doesn't have good experiences with time trials in the rain, remember the Euros Relay in 2020.

Segaert is a huge talent, a beast, but I believere there is still a lot of improvement possible for Rune as well.

That there are certain riders I don't want to win?
Or that Nationals are the only races where that's the case?

Yes, that there are riders whom you do not wish success just because they happen to ride for a team that doesn't design good jerseys. It must be quite weird for you to watch an NC race - it must be quite a different mindset you have there as opposed to regular races.

50% of the time trial done in Spain. Ayuso looks to be in contention... for bronze. He's on the same time as Lluis Mas, more than 10 seconds down on Lazkano and Castro. Raul Garcia Pierna already out after suffering a flat 3 minutes into his race.
A single time trial is a bit different than in a stage race. How is the profile for the 2nd part, maybe a hill or so?
