Who will finish highest in GC (outside of Vingegaard and Pogačar)?

I cast a hopeful vote for Other with Roglic in mind. Now that he is not riding, I would change it to Hindley I guess. Tempted by Skjelmose. I won't be surprised if many on the list lose time early, decide GC is done, and go for stages. Carapaz, for example, just like last year in the Vuelta. I would have selected Mas or Gaudu if they hadn't been *so* awful in their latest race.

TBH, I did it early and quickly, and without a great deal of thought. I think I might have had Yates in mind, or I might just have been thinking of how random some GT third places have been (Van den Broeck, Gadret, De Gendt, Carthy, Majka, Kruijswijk...)

I voted Other/Pino, not Vino my dear Netserk. This bird is special. This time there's no reason to believe in him. With Tibopino you never know. Why not him?

I voted Hindley but honestly I'm not confident in that pick at all. He had that one magnificent climbing performance on the Fedaia but that was argubly his only "Tour podium level" performance in the last 3 years. Just really unconvincing. But then I don't see anyone who's convincing me more either.
If Hindley can climb as he did to win the Giro that might be enough. He saved his bikkies until Fedaia. Hindley didn’t seem to have any trouble following attacks by Carapaz or Landa before Fedaia. He seems to have improved his TT since then. That doesn’t mean I am confident only pointing out it wasn’t just the Fedaia.

I'm going with Mas as BOTR. He's a cagey rider with a solid grand tour record, and he has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. He'll be the Geraint Thomas of this year's Tour.

Yates is the easy pick but at some point he'll have to sacrifice himself for Pog, I think. I'm not yet convinced by Hindley or O'Conner for the Tour podium -- I think they'll be 4th/5th.

Carapaz/Landa/Gaudu/Martinez have shown so little form this year that I don't have any way to tell what their level is.

Skjelmose is my wild card breakout pick. A podium wouldn't surprise me.

So we are all agreed the Tour win is between Teddy and Vinny

But who do you think (one answer please) will be the third man on the podium ?

There are last years and the year before's 4th places - Gaudu and O'Connor
There is the determined sounding - Landa

maybe someone from INEOS -Bernal, Pidcock, Martinez

Hows about one of the old French guard - Bardet or Pinot

A rare Italian - Ciccone

A flying Simon - Yates

Newest of the new kids on the block - Skjelmose

My pick for the podium - Hindley

or one of those colourful EF guys from S America - Carapaz, Uran, Chaves

maybe someone else ?? co leader A Yates ?

Who do you think will be the third man and why ??
