If we're talking about riders that we've considered, I considered Hirt and Baudin, which both look among most promising riders of their price range at this stage, although I can't complain about my actual picks of Martinez and Chaves either.
Stage 2 Oropa, and a declaration of intent
Purplish points
Martinez is one of those that could be afforded alongside Pogacar, so there are 4 teams that did the 1-2 today
Standings
Because this is the minor category, I'll just show the top ten most days. Although on some days there may be 11 teams in the top ten. And at least for the moment, those are the 11 teams with Pogacar.
Pink points
today
The purplish points can only increase, these can go up or down. Narvaez is now projected as coming 19th rather than first, so on course for 70 GC points rather than 500. But the 70 points for winning the stage yesterday, and 18 for wearing pink today, are guaranteed, even if he doesn't finish. And talking of not finishing, there are 15 points for all who do so, so -15 today for Gesink

For once I managed a unique pick with Dunbar that looked great on the first stage but then now out after the crash in stage 2. A bit annoying .
But I guess I should have been able to predict that would happen given his recent history.

Stage 3 Just a perfectly normal day for sprinters
Purplish points
11 teams made it clear that there is no upper price limit for GC riders. There seems to be one for sprinters though, as no-one went for Merlier or Kooij (Well, Sam6 did in his B team, and Josedin did initially, but that team had a cost of 8800+)
I tend to assume that any team with more than one sprinter was put together with one eye on the Purplish points classification.

On sprint days, there are usually few points changes other than the stage points and the pink bonuses. Today saw quite a few point classification changes and a few GC swaps where riders were split by total of positions.
The best two teams that we picked today we didn't pick. Titan got the best set of marginal changes alongside Milan to be top of the day's adjustments.

The same top ten as yesterday, but with changes within it as Devil's Elbow's rare pick Pellizari failed to finish with the peloton.
Tomorrow should be similar. Ish.

I think the slight error was underscoring for the riders in the lower top ten on stage 4, so the points for stage 6 include a correction to those.

It's frustrating to see that the cheap picks that were the closest to making my team, but eventually got rejected, scoring well already or looking good to score later, while my own cheap picks don't do so great.
PIetrobon and Piccolo already scored decently and Hirt looks on course for at least a top15 finish in GC if not top10, while my pick Chaves has tanked so much time today while another of my picks Pickrell already DNFed.
These stories are so common for me in this type of games. I correctly recognise noteworthy riders to my long list, but then tend to pick the wrong ones within the long list itself. I don't know why that happens and why "almost picks" outperform actual picks, so often.
