I would say that if Ayuso is gapped today, even if he manages to come back in the descent, it will be almost impossible for him to stay close to Vingegaard on Monte Petrano.

This is kind of stage that Bagioli should be contesting for the win.

If he loses 15/20 sec, Vingegaard will increase the gap in the desecent.

Ayuso would have to be seeing stars at the top of the climb for that to happen. Literally nothing so far suggests that Ayuso is worse downhill than Vingegaard.

It´s possible, that other riders will stay with Ayuso. The question is, do they want to ride with Ayuso. If not, Ayuso has to decide if he wants to pull the other riders the whole way to the finish. If not, could lead to a time loss, because of disagreement in the group.

From memory, I think the stage to Leukerbad is the only one where he descended after being dropped? Maybe you can include the raid stage in Catalunya 2022?

10 riders upfront. Incl. Ganna, Asgreen, Garcia Cortina..

Already 2:30 min advantage. Will Visma gift this to the breakaway?

I thought Visma would send a rider in the break too if they didn't want to pull all day.

Any non-yellow jerseys on the front deserve everything they're going to get in about 90 minutes time.

Jumbo need to see sense and give Steven Kruijswijk and maybe Wilco one last crack at Giro GC, Cian isn't looking too sharp at the moment. Plus it would be far more entertaining.

The train has been assembled at the front. The break could even be caught at the bottom of the climb.
