Ganna unble to beat Ayuso in a shot flat TT after his poor result in Algarve doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Can still get into the leader's jersey to save his TA and the same goes for Milan.

Ayuso though confirming that he is in great shape in this early season expect a lot for him this year.

Vingegaard wasn't too bad given that he is obviously better in hilly TT's but still with some work to do. It will need to be at his best on San Giacomo or Monte Petrano.

Tbh too early to say for Ganna, it's an odd year for him as he's pinning absolutely everything on the Olympics in July/August.

Kind of like how mid he was towards the back end of 2022, only to demolish the hour record. Ineos tend to be very good at managing the different skillsets between track and road, so we will see.

5sec win bonus for the helmet for 10km. Wout and Jonas have more advantage of it because they can put their shoulders more inside than others. A lot of difference in the wind tunnel with older/other helmets.

And in fact Ganna said he's happy with today's result becasue last year he lost by 11 seconds in this opening TA ITT course. Still, to lose to Ayuso, a much lighter rider, by just 1 sec. must grate on his nerves, despite having said to the contrary.

I'm not sure how far they'll be allowed to push this before the helmet just becomes a fairing that covers the entire body.

When they have a rider whose body fits in a 450x300x210 capsule, that will be an interesting concept.

2. Needs a reason to light up a mtf (or whatever that is)
3. GT riders don't do good ITT in one week stage races (pay no attention to Ayuso)
4. Maybe Ayuso is that good (see Ganna)
5. Conserving energy (this week. And for reason's not specified).
6. Caught a case of September ITT fever.
7. The real Vingo is still in Tiede
8. Playing it cool after Pogi went full ret@rd last weekend.

Race is nicely set up now with Vingegaard having a bigger then bonus seconds time deficit to make up against a genuine upper tier climber in Ayuso and guys like Hindley doing very credible rides to be in close order.

Also Martinez with his demonic uphill sprint, if he can do it outside of february

I think Rogla would be ok with wearing a large pan over his head and changing his name to Woklič, if he thought that would give him an advantage.

Actually, why is Visma trying to find marginal gains here? Shouldn't some other teams be inclined to do that and Visma to be rather sure in themself, they got it covered? We'll see during the season if they are doing it believing they are now ahead or behind.
