If there were a contribution from cyclocross to this game many scores would be higher, especially Urkiola's: I'm sure many of those women will have their influence on the game eventually, and if they are not taking an end of CX season break, some of the forthcoming races might suit them well. I suspect the next update will be in 3 weeks time, by when we'll have had WWT races in Omloop, Strade Bianche and Drenthe, and a few 1.1 races as well.

It's funny how I usually tend to do better in cycling games with women's teams than men's teams, even though I barely know anything about women's cycling.

I guess choosing riders based entirely on PCS is not that bad of a strategy.

On the Spanish forum Parlamento Ciclismo , I won the women's CQ game last year and have been in the lead since week one this time around. I fear they have a very inflated impression of my level of expertise on women's racing. I am hiding from any expectation of contributing from my falsely perceived wisdom by making as many errors on my Spanish as I can get away with.

The cyclocross riders that were popular picks have, for the most part, returned from their break after that season, so that made quite a boost for many teams.
Ruvu was just beaten on the short term total, but season-wide returns to the lead, and already looks like a formidable challenger, but the season is still in its early days.

Leadbelly is waiting only on Marta Cavalli, but she has an injury from a training fall in early February, and I'm not sure how soon she is due back.
There are several teams that need 2 more, but most of those are dependent on at least one of Cavalli, Dygert or Van Empel breaking their ducks, so a draw looks likely.

But the race to half the team in profit is more likely to be decided first here: Amis Velo is on 7/16, and Bminchow, Rufus and Ruvu each only one behind.

CQ must have got wind of this game: they are putting up weekly downloads for the women's rankings now, rather than the 3 or 4 a year previously, which is very welcome. I anticipate doing a batch of Emerging Riders' games this time next week, so the next update here should be in two weeks, including Ronde and Roubaix.

I'm probably very late to the party in realising this, but the women's CQ scoring scale is rather different to the men's and gives much more weight to SSRs than to the big races.

I only noticed it with two of my riders getting wins this week. Kopecky won PR (1.WWT) and got 140 points while Drummond won Region Pays de la Loire Tour (1.2) and got 40!! Now if we translate those results to a men's race of the same level the scores would have been 280 vs 15. That's a massive difference in a points scoring ratio.

There must be some reason why they have it this way, but maybe it's something to bear in mind next year when selecting your team.
