The three non-Vingegaard teams that beat any that did have him were the near identical teams of Googolplex and Josedin in 23rd and 24th places (split by Thomas in 58th GC vs Le Berre 61st) and ZigZag in 26th.

Best possible

VINGEGAARD HANSEN Jonas
HEALY Ben
GALL Felix
ARENSMAN Thymen
PARET PEINTRE Valentin
NABERMAN Tim
VAN LERBERGHE Bert
EENKHOORN Pascal

cost 3991, points 2223, which means that DJW scored 87.9 %, exceptionally high, especially given that he only had 2 of these.

They would have scored 986 Green points, which could have been improved with
Best Green team
Surprisingly, without Vingegaard
MILAN Jonathan
HEALY Ben
GROVES Kaden
ARENSMAN Thymen
PARET PEINTRE Valentin
ABRAHAMSEN Jonas
BALLERINI Davide
EENKHOORN Pascal

1027 Green points for a cost of 3911, but only 6th place overall

Best possible without Vingegaard
The overall win was very much possible: this lot would have scored 2165 for a spend of 3971
LIPOWITZ Florian
HEALY Ben
GALL Felix
ARENSMAN Thymen
JOHANNESSEN Tobias Halland
PARET PEINTRE Valentin
ABRAHAMSEN Jonas
NABERMAN Tim (or any of several 20 pointers costing 49 or less)

If the budget were stretched to enable selection of Pogacar
That would require a minimum budget of 5279. None of the cheapest seven did anything other than get their 20 points, and one of them DNFed, so the team with Pogacar would have got 1709. Whereas it would have been possible to get:
VINGEGAARD HANSEN Jonas
LIPOWITZ Florian
HEALY Ben
GALL Felix
ARENSMAN Thymen
JOHANNESSEN Tobias Halland
VAN LERBERGHE Bert
NABERMAN Tim
for 2830.

I think the budget would need to be extended to about 8700 for Pogacar to be part of a best possible team.

Collective Ignorance
Onley and Vauquelin briefly threatened to embarrass us, but in the end the best team possible made up entirely of unselected riders would only have come 29th with 1093

ONLEY Oscar
VAUQUELIN Kévin
NARVAEZ PRADO Jhonatan Manuel
BARGUIL Warren

GARCIA PIERNA Raul

Only Los Brolin made the top ten despite the loss of Rodriguez, but the fate of Waerenskjold didn't stop Googolplex and Josedin in their domination of the non-Vingegaard contingent.

As usual, for the bad luck table I count the cost of non-finishers, minus the stage points they gained while still racing.

And that is about it for data I can usefully extract, I think.

By all means, investigate the spreadsheet for further delights.

Hoping they will all complete their seasons with La Vuelta.

Can I have a week off before the Emerging and Women's updates?

Very happy to have secured the Yellow Jersey to go with my Vuelta (2022?) title.

Thanks AC for running the game and Madrazo for a very close contest.

Looking forward to renewing the rivalry at the Vuelta for the 4 seasons title.
