I wonder was it theft or funding for teams 'marginal gains' for 2014.......
Unpaid storage bills? :D

In all seriousness, if it was last years bikes it would look worse as Lampre need something to ride this coming year. It would also get a lot less media attention too...

Italian law moves at snail pace. It makes lawyers rich and helps get people off charges as they slip into SOL. Look at the Conconi case in the 90's.

If it's the law it's the law, can't complain too loudly in that case.

But no doubt there are many willing to get their hands dirty to help slow things down and get people to look the other way. Given that, it's a win just getting it to trial. Padova seems to have gone quiet. The people and amount of money involved up there is an awful lot of resistance, doping meets organised crime.

Just part of the game unfortunately.

But yeah all these guys doping in 2009, who would've guessed hey, but the reality is that the culture in cycling is to dope. That has not changed and it will take a monumental effort and injection of money into anti doping to change that. No one wants to spend money catching cheats!

Di Luca and Santambrogio say hi. The Italians have been getting better and if anything, are doing more than most nations.

ballan was suspended more like for 5 years. also had a horrific crash, i feel sorry for him. he was a nice guy,i really doubt he will make a comeback

As far as i am concerned i hope he doesn't comeback in any capacity.

That it's a de facto ~4 year ban. That Contador only missed 6 months of racing, while Ballan will miss 8 times as much. That's a load of crap imho.
Rules as written. Ballan was free to confess when the allegations first broke out.

It's not a 4-year ban anyway. Between one provisional suspension (unofficial, done by the team, by the way) and the next, Ballan was racing, stealing results and making money.

Huh? It's not like Alberto 'fessed either.

Okay it's more like three years, but it's still way too much imo.

Not a surprising results. I do feel slightly sorry that for him after the last couple years. Crashing and missing the whole season last year while the year before he had just managed to start to come back and get reslts after 2 years of few results before that. And now out for 2 more years. But not too sorry, he doped, and now he has to pay the price.

He'll be 37 by the time his ban ends, so this could very well be the end of his career.

Sure. It's easy to be sorry about his crash and the time missed and injuries as others have said, he might be a nice guy. But it seems nice guys dope and always have. Now we should ask ourselves are liars nice guys ? His career is over like Di Luca and others who get caught late in their career. BMC's Spring Classics team takes a hit.

I dont believe he has proven himself as a contender since his crash. I dont think this hurts BMC's classics effort much at all.
